What a treat! Last Friday, the Incomparable Lalah Hathaway blessed Atlanta music lovers with not one but two sold out shows at Center Stage Theater. Hosted by WCLK’s Jamal Ahmad, Lalah captivated her audience during both performances. It is no coincidence that the October 30th date coincided with the release of her first live album Lalah Hathaway Live. Prior to the show this two-time Grammy award-winning artist was presented by Councilman Andre Dickens with a proclamation from the city of Atlanta naming October 30th Lalah Hathaway Day and acknowledging her contributions to the music industry after 25 years. The show was presented by Next Level Events in conjunction with Invictus Productions. Ms. Hathaway started the show with ” Little Ghetto Boy” and then launched into a series of classic songs. It was an incredible show and capturing it through my lens was a magical experience.
Proving that she is still a force to be reckoned with even after 25 years in the music industry Hathaway appeared to be as moved by her music as members of the audience were throughout the show.
